The Ramlıç breed were developed in Mahmudiye stud farm of Eskişehir province by an animal scientist Prof. Dr. Burhan Cahit YALÇIN. The breed carries American Rambouillet (65%) and  native Dağlıç (35%) genotype and well adapted to harsh conditions of inner West Anatolian. It is bred for meat and wool purposes.
The aim of the project is to build a new Ramlıç genotype possessing myostatin mutation in its gene pool. We renamed this genotype as Ramlıç Plus. This project was funded by Republic of Turkey Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry General Directorate of Agricultural Research and Policies (TAGEM).
